OUR STORY
About Ox Mountain Quartet
Music Across the Mountains
Named after the Ox Mountains that connect Mayo and Sligo, Ox Mountain Quartet brings together four musicians united by a shared landscape and a deep love of traditional Irish music. Brothers David and Patrick Doocey and Stephen Doherty have roots in Foxford, County Mayo, while Siobhan O’Donnell comes from the Sligo side of the mountain range.
For generations, their families have played music, sung and danced together. Those gatherings, friendships and stories are part of the quartet’s musical inheritance, inspiring a sound that blends traditional songs and tunes with contemporary and folk favourites.
